Practical advice for meeting new people and outdoor activities. Your safety comes first.
Before meeting
We recommend:
- checking the organizer’s profile;
- reading reviews;
- clarifying details;
- checking the address;
- finding out the required equipment;
- assessing your own skill level.
First meeting
For a first meeting with strangers, choose a public place.
Tell someone you trust
For trips, hikes, outings and meetings with strangers, tell a trusted person in advance where you are going, with whom, and when you plan to return.
Transport
Do not get into a car with someone just because they have a SOBIRA profile. Assess the situation yourself.
Money
Do not send money via third-party links or details to strangers if you do not understand the recipient and the purpose of the payment.
SOBIRA never asks for your password, SMS code or card CVV in direct messages.
Sports and outdoor activities
For hikes, mountaineering, climbing, cycling, mountains, water, extreme sports and other potentially risky events, the organizer must honestly state the difficulty and requirements.
The participant assesses their own fitness, health and equipment.
Weather and route
For outdoor plans, before heading out check: the weather, the route, connectivity, return time, water and the necessary gear.
Verified users
A verification badge reduces uncertainty about the verified attribute, but is not a guarantee of absolute safety.
If you feel uncomfortable
You may leave an event or meeting if you consider the situation unsafe.
Emergency
In case of an immediate threat to life or health, contact emergency services first, rather than waiting for a SOBIRA support reply. Afterwards you can report the violation to SOBIRA.
Blocking
“Block” stops or limits interaction between users depending on the implemented logic.
Report
“Report” is available from the profile and supported content types.
